Dubai South and Expeditors Sign Agreement to Open a New Facility at the Logisitics District
Dubai South, the largest urban master development in the region focusing on aviation, logistics, and real estate, has signed an agreement with Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NYSE: EXPD), a Fortune 500 global logistics company.
The partnership marks the launch of a new Expeditors facility within Dubai South’s Logistics District, a significant step in Expeditors’ regional expansion.
The signing ceremony, held with senior leaders from both organizations, featured HE Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South; Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District, Dubai South; and Expeditors’ leadership, including Jeffrey S. Musser, President and CEO, along with other key executives.
Spanning 23,200 square meters, the new facility will support a wide range of warehousing and fulfilment services, including inventory management, kitting, labelling, compliance inspections, and pick-and-pack services. The facility will also operate a container freight station, offering shipment consolidation, export services, and unit load device breakdowns. Operations are slated to begin in February 2025.
In his remarks, Mohsen Ahmad expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing Dubai South’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and its role in positioning Dubai as a global logistics hub. Expeditors’ Jeffrey Musser highlighted the strategic significance of the facility in enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the growing logistics needs in the region.
Expeditors, with a global presence spanning 176 district offices, offers services such as air and ocean freight consolidation, customs brokerage, and tailored logistics solutions. Dubai South’s Logistics District provides seamless access to Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, further strengthening its position as a leading logistics center.
