Dubai South has officially opened a state-of-the-art logistics facility for Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPD), a Fortune 500 global logistics giant, within its Logistics District.
The inauguration was marked by the presence of key figures from both entities, including Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of the Logistics District at Dubai South, and Wael Hanna, District Manager, Expeditors Dubai, alongside senior executives from the Middle East and Africa regions.
Spanning 23,200 square meters, the new facility is designed to deliver end-to-end warehousing and fulfilment services. These include container freight station operations, inventory and order management, kitting, labelling, compliance inspections, quality control, return programs, and transport management.
Mohsen Ahmad highlighted the strategic significance of the launch, stating,
“This facility reflects our commitment to supporting Dubai’s ambition of being a global logistics powerhouse.”
Wael Hanna added,
“Having served the Dubai market for over 25 years, this expansion underlines our dedication to enhancing service quality and meeting evolving customer needs.”
The new facility further strengthens Dubai South’s position as a leading logistics ecosystem. With direct access to Al Maktoum International Airport and Jebel Ali Port via a bonded corridor, the Logistics District enables seamless multimodal connectivity. It also houses EZDubai, a dedicated e-commerce zone, and the Contract Logistics Zone, supporting a range of advanced supply chain solutions.
Expeditors, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, operates in 176 districts across six continents, offering integrated air and ocean freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, and tailored logistics services.
