The Dubai Sports Council has launched a new season of its flagship educational program, GARS, for the 2025–2026 sports season, reinforcing its commitment to shaping responsible and community-minded athletes in line with Dubai’s Social Agenda 33.
Developed in collaboration with Dubai’s leading sports clubs and key government entities, GARS aims to instill behavioral values, enhance life skills, and protect young athletes from social risks. The initiative works closely with organizations including Dubai Police, the Community Development Authority, the Dubai Endowment Authority, and the Roads and Transport Authority.
Since its inception in 2013, GARS has engaged more than 45,000 participants and delivered over 1,350 lectures, earning recognition as one of Dubai’s leading social development initiatives in sports.
The latest season focuses on four core areas: promoting ethical conduct, developing life skills, improving health and safety awareness, and encouraging community engagement through field activities and workshops.
Among this year’s key programs, Dubai Police will lead the “Conscious Athlete” initiative to promote traffic safety, responsible stadium behavior, and cybercrime prevention. The Dubai Endowment Authority will highlight community responsibility, while the RTA and Emirates Driving Institute will offer awareness sessions on safe driving and e-scooter use.
Other initiatives include the “Nibras” awareness program by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the “Child-Friendly Clubs” project by the Community Development Authority.
By fostering a culture of respect, safety, and social responsibility, the GARS initiative continues to support Dubai’s strategic vision of building a sports environment rooted in ethics and positive values.
