Dubai Strengthens Commitment to Endowment Sector with AED 11.1 Billion Growth in 2024

Dubai is reaffirming its leadership in the endowment sector, with a notable 9% growth in assets, reaching AED 11.1 billion in 2024.

This milestone was highlighted by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, during a meeting with a delegation from the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai (AWQAF Dubai), alongside prominent donors. The meeting also saw the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan praised AWQAF Dubai’s efforts in expanding endowments and supporting community development. He lauded the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which has been instrumental in strengthening the culture of giving in Dubai. The total number of endowments has now reached 1,043, with 578 active donors, reflecting Dubai’s growing commitment to sustainable development and social welfare.

The Crown Prince also highlighted the increasing role of women in endowment efforts, with female endowment assets surging by 99.96%, reaching AED 1.3 billion in 2024. This underscores the importance of social responsibility and the collective efforts to drive positive societal change.

A detailed report revealed that real estate forms the largest portion of Dubai’s endowment assets, valued at AED 10 billion across 921 endowments. AWQAF Dubai continues to embrace innovative, smart services and data-driven strategies to ensure transparency, efficiency, and long-term sustainability in the management of endowments.

With a forward-looking vision, AWQAF Dubai aims to expand its reach and continue its contributions to key sectors such as education, healthcare, and scientific research.
