Dubai is reinforcing its position as a global hub for creativity and culture through a strategic partnership between Dubai Culture and Expo City Dubai.

The collaboration was formalised by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, and Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority.

The partnership aims to consolidate Dubai’s role as a centre for talent and innovation while delivering pioneering cultural initiatives. A key focus is supporting the 27th International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference – Dubai 2025, which will be hosted in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region for the first time from 11 to 17 November. The opening ceremony under the Al Wasl Plaza dome will welcome over 4,000 international delegates.

H.H. Sheikha Latifa highlighted the collaboration as a model for cultural institutions, emphasizing its role in celebrating diversity, empowering creative sectors, and driving sustainable development. Reem Al Hashimy noted the initiative strengthens Dubai’s cultural momentum, fostering talent and promoting innovation across the arts ecosystem.

The partnership will introduce projects such as the ‘Pocket Forest’ at Terra, inspired by the Miyawaki urban reforestation method, which enhances biodiversity and promotes sustainability. H.H. Sheikha Latifa and Al Hashimy participated in planting the first indigenous saplings, marking a symbolic return to the UAE’s environmental roots.

Coinciding with ICOM Dubai 2025, the Dhai Dubai Art Festival will run from 12 to 18 November at Expo City Dubai. The festival will feature Emirati artists from three generations and unveil the ‘House of Art,’ a platform for exhibitions, dialogue, and creative exchange.

The collaboration underscores Dubai’s ongoing ambition to lead in culture and creativity while showcasing the city as a vibrant destination for talent, innovation, and international cultural engagement.
