Dubai Strengthens Governance and Legislative Cooperation through New MoU

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing governance and institutional collaboration, the General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDIFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC).

The agreement was officially signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, GDIFA’s Director General, and His Excellency Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, SLC Secretary General.

This MoU marks a significant milestone in aligning the two organizations’ efforts to improve legislative knowledge exchange, develop institutional policies, and launch joint initiatives. The collaboration aims to promote good governance, enhance legislative awareness, and implement digital solutions and artificial intelligence to improve government service efficiency.

H.E. Al Marri emphasized the importance of the MoU in supporting Dubai's future vision, saying it reflects the GDIFA’s commitment to fostering a culture of legislative compliance and promoting a favorable government work environment.

“This collaboration aligns with Dubai’s efforts to enhance regulatory policies and improve the quality of government performance,”

he stated.

Meanwhile, H.E. Al Muhairi highlighted the crucial role of the partnership in reinforcing the legislative ecosystem, stating that it would further support Dubai’s global leadership in governance and innovation.

The MoU is expected to drive innovation in government services, strengthen legislative frameworks, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Emirate, positioning Dubai as a model of institutional excellence and governance.
