Dubai has reaffirmed its status as one of the world's most compelling destinations for wealth and luxury living, according to the Julius Baer Global Wealth and Lifestyle Report 2026, which credited the emirate's blend of high-end real estate, entrepreneurial energy and forward-thinking development for its growing global appeal.

The report singled out Dubai's property market as a major draw for affluent buyers. Compared with the soaring real estate prices seen in top Asian and European cities, Dubai offers considerably stronger value, a factor that continues to attract wealthy individuals and families seeking both lifestyle and long-term investment opportunities.

Beyond property, the report found Dubai to be a highly cost-effective city for high-value goods and services, giving buyers a clear edge over many other global markets tracked in the index.

Much of this advantage stems from the UAE dirham's peg to the US dollar. This currency link has kept Dubai's cost of living more manageable for internationally mobile professionals and high-net-worth families, especially when compared with cities tied to stronger currencies like the euro and Swiss franc, both of which saw sharp increases in luxury pricing over the past year.

On a global scale, the report noted that luxury lifestyle costs rose by an average of 10.2 percent in US dollar terms, reflecting broader economic pressures reshaping spending patterns for wealthy individuals worldwide. Despite this, financial markets have remained notably resilient.

The report attributed these shifting dynamics to a combination of geopolitical tensions, evolving global trade relationships and continued volatility in foreign exchange markets, all of which are influencing how and where the world's wealthy choose to live, invest and spend.
