His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, witnessed the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the Dubai Press Club and key strategic partners to support the next phase of the Dubai Content Creators Programme. The initiative aims to equip emerging media talent with the creative and technical skills necessary to produce high-quality, professional digital content.
Sheikh Ahmed emphasized the importance of empowering youth in the digital media space to drive sector development and reflect Dubai’s unique growth model. He also underscored the value of cross-sector collaboration in creating content that supports the emirate’s broader development goals.
The MoUs were signed during the Emirati Media Retreat, which brought together media leaders, editors, writers, and representatives from major institutions to discuss the future of UAE media.
The MoUs were signed by Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, with the following entities to cover five core content tracks:
- Economic Content: Helal Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism
- Cultural Content: Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority
- Community Content: Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD)
- Health & Scientific Content: Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of MBRU
- Sports Content: Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council
Mona Al Marri thanked partners for supporting Dubai’s vision to become a global media hub and noted the success of the programme’s initial phase focused on economic content, launched in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Economy. She confirmed that the programme is now expanding into new tracks covering critical sectors of public life.
She highlighted the programme's role in advancing Dubai’s media competitiveness through hands-on workshops, expert-led sessions, and access to trusted information.
- Helal Al Marri emphasized storytelling's role in promoting Dubai’s culture and tourism, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
- Hala Badri stated that content creation supports Dubai’s creative economy and helps preserve cultural heritage.
- Ahmed Al Muhairi linked the initiative to the Year of the Community, highlighting its potential to produce socially impactful content.
- Dr. Amer Sharif underscored the importance of trusted health communication and preparing content creators to share accurate health messages.
- Khalfan Belhoul praised the sports track for its role in highlighting Dubai’s status as a global sports destination and promoting active lifestyles.
Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, said the initial success of the programme reflected high demand and strong outcomes, noting that participants gained valuable knowledge and content creation skills across sectors.
The Dubai Content Creators Programme offers practical training through workshops and lectures, positioning itself as a launchpad for emerging talent to contribute to the future of Dubai’s media landscape.
