'Al Freej Fridge' Campaign to Offer Free Ice Cream, Juices, and Water to Workers and Delivery Riders in Dubai
In a bid to alleviate the harsh summer conditions faced by outdoor workers, the 'Al Freej Fridge' campaign has been launched, aiming to distribute cold water, juices, and ice cream.
This initiative, organized by Furjan Dubai in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, the UAE Water Aid Foundation, and the UAE Food Bank, seeks to support workers across various sectors including cleaners, construction workers, delivery riders, and agricultural workers.
The campaign, scheduled to run until August 23, aims to reach one million workers through refrigerated vehicles touring different areas of Dubai. Volunteers from the local community are actively participating in distributing refreshments to ensure workers' well-being during the hottest months. This effort not only provides relief from the scorching temperatures but also underscores Dubai's commitment to social responsibility and community solidarity.
Dr Abdul Karim Sultan Al Olama, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, highlighted the campaign's role in promoting compassion and giving within Dubai's community. He emphasized the importance of supporting workers year-round, especially during challenging climatic conditions.
Alia Al Shamlan, Director of Furjan Dubai, expressed gratitude for the community's enthusiastic participation, emphasizing the campaign's humanitarian message and its reflection of Emirati values. She noted the profound impact of such initiatives in fostering unity and support among Dubai's residents.
Through the 'Al Freej Fridge' campaign, Dubai continues to set an example of proactive community engagement, ensuring the well-being and happiness of all its residents, particularly those whose dedication contributes significantly to the city's prosperity.
