Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC), the largest taxi operator in Dubai, has expanded its fleet with 250 new license plates secured at a recent Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) auction.
This addition brings DTC’s fleet to 6,210 vehicles and is projected to generate AED 85 million in additional annual revenue.
The newly acquired vehicles will all be electric, further boosting DTC’s eco-friendly fleet, which now comprises approximately 87% hybrid and electric vehicles. This strategic move aligns with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and DTC’s commitment to innovative, environmentally conscious transport solutions, aiming to position Dubai as a leader in sustainable urban mobility.
Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of DTC, highlighted the company’s commitment to sustainable growth, noting that DTC’s fleet now exceeds 9,000 vehicles, including taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles. This expansion supports both local and regional services while bolstering partnerships with prominent companies in smart transportation.
"Our goal is to continue enhancing our operational capabilities to efficiently meet the growing demand for transport services, reducing emissions, and advancing sustainability,"
Alfalasi said.
This initiative also aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, underscoring the Dubai Government’s vision for sustainable transport. By expanding its electric fleet, DTC aims to cut emissions, increase operational efficiency, and contribute to environmental preservation, solidifying its role as a comprehensive provider of mobility solutions in Dubai.
