Dubai is set to host the 19th World Congress of Neurosurgery from December 1-4, 2025, marking the first time this prestigious medical event will be held in the Middle East. The event, under the theme ‘Connecting the Neurosurgical World,’ is organized by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and will welcome approximately 4,000 delegates, including leading experts, innovators, and changemakers in neurosurgery.
The successful bid was led by the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons, with support from Dubai Business Events, highlighting Dubai's reputation as a global hub for international conferences. The WFNS acknowledged Dubai’s cutting-edge infrastructure, business-friendly environment, and dynamic atmosphere as key factors for its selection.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, emphasized that hosting the congress showcases Dubai's growing knowledge economy and its ability to serve as a global platform for innovation, professional development, and networking in key sectors such as healthcare.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Olama, President of the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons and an Al Safeer Congress Ambassador, expressed pride in bringing world-renowned neurosurgeons to Dubai to share insights and advance the field of medicine. He credited the city’s successful hosting of past medical events as paving the way for larger global congresses.
This congress aligns with Dubai’s broader vision under the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, to solidify its position as a leading global destination for business and innovation, driving economic growth and sectoral development.
