Dubai has officially been confirmed as the host city for the 5th Asian Youth Para Games, set to take place from 7 to 14 December 2025.
The announcement follows the signing of the host city contract between the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) and the Dubai Club for People of Determination, who will lead the Local Organising Committee.
The signing ceremony, held at the APC headquarters in Dubai, saw His Excellency Majid Al Usaimi, APC President, and His Excellency Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, formalise the agreement. The Games will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
Dubai steps in to host the Games after Tashkent, the originally scheduled host city, withdrew. This marks the second time Dubai will host the prestigious event, having previously staged it in 2017.
Al Usaimi expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for ensuring the continuity of the Games, calling it a testament to the country’s commitment to supporting People of Determination. He noted that the Games are a cornerstone in nurturing young para-athletes and growing the Paralympic movement across Asia.
Berregad affirmed the Dubai Club’s readiness to deliver a high-calibre event despite the short preparation time. He highlighted the UAE’s track record in hosting major international sporting events and vowed to present an “exceptional edition” of the Games.
The 2025 Games will feature competitions across 11 sports, with the aim of fostering young talent and further integrating inclusive sports across the continent.
