Dubai is set to become a global hub for academic innovation next month as it hosts the highly anticipated 'Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity.'
Running from November 18-21, the event will feature top-tier students and professors from over 800 universities worldwide, showcasing 100 groundbreaking projects designed to address the world's pressing issues.
Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event, held in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), will provide a platform for innovations in fields like healthcare, energy, civil society, and sustainability. The initiative’s goal is to empower projects with transformative potential, fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Highlighting the significance of innovation and talent cultivation, Sheikha Latifa emphasized the city's commitment to building a dynamic ecosystem that attracts brilliant minds globally.
“This initiative embodies partnership and role integration among sectors and individuals working toward a better world,”
she remarked.
Supported by key partners including Dubai Culture, DIFC, and the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, with a funding commitment of AED100 million, the initiative seeks to scale impactful solutions from Dubai to the world. The event will culminate on November 19 with the announcement of five standout innovators, who will share an AED360,000 prize to further their research.
DFF CEO Khalfan Belhoul noted that the initiative enhances Dubai's reputation as a hub for impactful innovation. With over 2,700 applications this year, Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity cements its role as a global beacon for academic collaboration and sustainable development.
