Global leaders, mayors, and innovators will converge in Dubai this month for the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2025APCS) & Mayors’ Forum, a major international gathering aimed at reimagining urban living and driving sustainable development.
The event, hosted by Expo City Dubai from October 27 to 29, will focus on creating cities that are more liveable, efficient, and resilient.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the summit is among the world’s largest and most diverse city leadership events. It will feature discussions on affordable housing, climate resilience, data-driven urban design, and nature-based solutions, bringing together policymakers, investors, academics, and startups.
Dubai Municipality is set to unveil a series of flagship projects that enhance smart infrastructure, digital transformation, and sustainability. The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will also outline its procurement programme.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, said the summit builds on Dubai’s legacy as a platform for global collaboration and innovation.
Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of The Executive Council of Dubai, highlighted the emirate’s commitment to sustainable growth and knowledge exchange.
More than 150 mayors and leaders from over 300 cities will attend, including representatives from Nigeria, Brazil, India, Pakistan, France, and Morocco. Key speakers include Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Dr. Nawal Al Hosany, and Mo Gawdat.
The event will culminate in the Mayors’ Accord, outlining shared strategies for global city growth and resilience, marking the first time the Asia Pacific Cities Summit is hosted in the Middle East.
