Dubai is set to host the 10th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on October 2-3, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
The summit, organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), will bring together international experts to discuss strategies for advancing a green economy that can adapt to climate change.
Themed “Empowering Global Action: Unlocking Opportunities and Advancing Progress,” the summit will address pressing global challenges, including climate change, global warming, and the transition to a more sustainable economy. Key topics will include decarbonization, clean energy advancements, climate finance, the circular economy, policy frameworks, and the role of technology in tackling climate change.
Significant attention will be given to the UAE Circular Economy Policy, focusing on sustainable manufacturing, green infrastructure, and sustainable food production. The summit will also explore the role of youth in climate action and the importance of addressing food and water security.
With 2023 marking the warmest year in recorded history, the summit's discussions on decarbonization and net-zero goals will be particularly timely, as experts explore strategies for carbon capture, renewable energy adoption, and climate finance. This landmark event aims to strengthen international collaboration and drive meaningful progress toward a more resilient and sustainable global economy.
