Dubai is set to inaugurate the second edition of the Japan Trade Exhibition on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), featuring over 100 Japanese companies and brands.
Organised by Maico Enterprise, the exhibition anticipates a significant boost in trade volumes and foreign direct investment (FDI) between the UAE and Japan. This growth aligns with ongoing negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two nations.
Mai Sakaue, CEO of Maico Enterprise and Chair of the Executive Committee for the exhibition, emphasized the event’s growth, noting an increase in participation from both established companies and Japanese startups eager to explore investment opportunities in the UAE. This surge reflects the UAE's role as a key market and a gateway for regional expansion.
The UAE is Japan's largest Middle Eastern export market, with total exports reaching $11.3 billion (AED 41.5 billion) between January and November 2024, accounting for 45% of Japan's regional trade. Japan is also ranked as the UAE's ninth-largest trading partner, with a trade volume of AED 45.4 billion in the first nine months of 2024.
The exhibition, spanning three days, will showcase sectors including technology, aerospace, food, healthcare, engineering, and more. With approximately 30,000 visitors expected, the event will provide a unique platform for networking, investment exploration, and cultural exchange between the two nations.
