The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced the upcoming third edition of the Dubai Festival for Youth Music, set to take place at the Etihad Museum on November 20th.
This year’s festival will feature over 85 talented participants from across the UAE, showcasing a diverse array of musical performances.
The festival aims to identify, nurture, and empower emerging musical talent, offering a platform for young creatives to pursue their artistic passions. Participants, ranging in age from 15 to 35, will compete across five main categories, including Best Vocal Performance, Best Arabic Instrumental Performance (Oud), Best Classical Instrumental Performance (Violin), Best Piano Performance, and Best Ensemble Performance.
In addition to celebrating youth talent, Dubai Culture will honor Dr. Aref Alshaikh with the ‘Musical Personality of the Year’ title. Dr. Alshaikh, an esteemed poet and author, is renowned for his significant contributions to UAE literature, including penning the UAE national anthem. His award recognizes his influential role in enriching the local cultural scene.
Fatma Al Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department at Dubai Culture, emphasized the festival’s commitment to fostering a sustainable creative environment for young artists.
“We hope to inspire them to continue their artistic journeys and contribute to the strength of the cultural and creative industries in Dubai,”
she stated.
The Dubai Festival for Youth Music invites young Emirati and UAE-based musicians, solo vocalists, bands, and instrumentalists to participate. All submissions must be original works that align with UAE laws and reflect the community’s traditions.
