Dubai is set to host the 10th edition of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) World Congress from September 23-25, 2024, under the theme ‘Zones and the Shifting Global Economic Structures – Unlocking New Investment Avenues’.
The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will take place at Madinat Jumeirah and is expected to attract over 2,000 global and regional business leaders, free zone officials, and experts from more than 100 countries.
This year’s congress marks the 10th anniversary of the World FZO and will focus on the evolving role of economic zones in global trade, which currently facilitate over a third of global trade flows. The event aims to highlight the impact of these zones on national economies, trade facilitation, digital economy growth, and foreign investment attraction.
His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, emphasized Dubai's commitment to advancing the global system of economic zones, aligning with the UAE's broader economic goals, including the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and UAE Centennial 2071.
The congress will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on the future of economic zones, with a focus on embracing new technologies and sectors such as Artificial Intelligence and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The event also underscores the World FZO's growing influence, with over 1,600 members from 141 countries, and its commitment to fostering global trade sustainability and economic development.
