Celebrating a decade of service, the Dubai Tram has reached a remarkable milestone, transporting over 60 million passengers since its 2014 debut and covering 6 million kilometers.
With a punctuality rate of 99.9%, the tram system has become a cornerstone of Dubai’s public transport network, reflecting the city’s commitment to sustainable, efficient, and safe mobility.
The tram route connects 11 strategically located stations along Al Sufouh Road, from Al Sufouh Station to Jumeirah Lakes Towers, covering key destinations such as Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and JBR. With a journey time of just 42 minutes, it provides a scenic and convenient transit option for both residents and tourists.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has integrated the tram seamlessly with other modes of transport, including the Dubai Metro, buses, taxis, and cycling tracks. This integrated network aligns with Dubai’s vision of making public transport a preferred choice and contributes to the city’s environmental and urban mobility goals.
The Dubai Tram leads globally in technology, being the first system with automatic platform doors and ground-level power supply, which enhances safety by eliminating overhead wires. Fully air-conditioned stations provide year-round comfort for passengers, and the tram’s 11 cars offer diverse compartments across Gold, Silver, and dedicated women and children’s cabins.
A 24/7 control center monitors operations, ensuring uninterrupted service by tracking tram movement and system efficiency. With its continuous technological advancements and service excellence, the Dubai Tram remains a symbol of Dubai’s innovation in urban mobility and its commitment to providing safe, reliable transport for all.
