Dubai has unveiled a striking new artwork on the façade of The Gate Building in DIFC, celebrating the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
The installation forms a central highlight of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, part of Dubai’s National Month celebrations running from 3 November to 2 December.
The 50-metre-high artwork, designed by Emirati artist Ahmed BaFadhl, blends portraits of the Founding Fathers with symbols of the UAE’s scientific and space achievements, including the Hope Probe, Etihad-SAT, and Rashid Rover 2. It reflects the nation’s ongoing journey of progress while paying tribute to the values of determination and vision instilled by its leaders.
Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, said the collaboration with DIFC marked the third consecutive year of creative initiatives that honour the nation’s heritage. She highlighted the artwork’s role in connecting generations to the UAE’s history and inspiring pride in its achievements.
Alya Al Zarouni, Chief Operating Officer at DIFC, described the piece as a blend of heritage and future aspirations, demonstrating how economic leadership and innovation are rooted in strong national foundations.
Amina Taher of the campaign committee added that such initiatives strengthen young Emiratis’ connection to the nation’s values and history.
The #ZayedAndRashid campaign, organised by Brand Dubai with government and private sector partners, commemorates the historic meeting in Al Khawaneej that marked the beginning of the Union. Its creative activations across Dubai aim to celebrate national identity and inspire continued progress for future generations.
