The UAE issues Visit Visas for various purposes, such as travel, family visits, and job searching. However, immigration checks have intensified at UAE airports to identify job seekers arriving on Visit Visas.
Visit Visa Holders Must Have AED 3,000 in Cash
There have been instances where Indian passengers were denied boarding for Dubai flights. On May 15, a passenger at Dubai Airport was asked for documentation; he had AED 3,000 and a return ticket but no proof of accommodation. On May 20, another passenger faced a similar situation at Cochin International Airport.
Authorities are enforcing strict entry requirements. Some travelers were detained at Indian airports, while others were held at Dubai airports. Passengers with Dubai Visit Visas must have AED 3,000 in cash, a valid return ticket, and proof of accommodation before boarding their flights.
No Refunds or Rescheduling for Stranded Passengers
Airlines have also started enforcing a rule that visiting visa holders must have hotel reservation documents and AED 5,000 to cover expenses. Hundreds of travelers were denied boarding even after providing contact details and addresses of friends and family in the UAE. Passengers whose flights were canceled received no reimbursements or rescheduling options and had to wait in long queues at the airport.
The UAE offers three types of Visit Visas: 14 days, 30 days, and 90 days. The 14-day visa is for single-entry permits and cannot be extended, while the 30 and 90-day visas can be extended twice.
