Dubai will host the Concordia Horizon Summit in May 2027, bringing the global gathering of government leaders and business executives to the Middle East for the first time.
The summit will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. It is organised in collaboration with the Department of Finance for the Government of Dubai and will focus on global challenges, public-private partnerships and new areas of economic cooperation. Organisers expect major announcements and landmark partnerships.
Dubai's selection was announced at the Concordia Annual Summit in New York in September, held alongside the UN General Assembly. Concordia is a US-based non-profit established in 2011 that brings together decision makers and cross-sector leaders to build strategic partnerships.
Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of the Department of Finance, said the decision reflects international confidence in Dubai as a destination for business and investment. He described the summit as a platform to anticipate global economic trends and open new avenues for cooperation.
Rodney Ferguson, CEO of Concordia, said the event aligns with Dubai's position as a global crossroads for innovation, investment and economic growth. He added that Concordia expects it to be its most exciting event yet.
Concordia's earlier editions have produced notable initiatives. Prosper Africa aims to mobilise more than $800 million in private investment for African infrastructure and climate adaptation. Project Fury, led by IDE Global, seeks to empower one million female entrepreneurs. At the 2024 summit, African Parks announced a $1 billion conservation initiative.
Further details on the programme, participants and areas of focus will be announced in the coming months.
