The cinema at Dubai's Ibn Battuta Mall has permanently closed. The closure, which took effect on July 31, leaves residents in nearby communities like Discovery Gardens, Jebel Ali, and Al Furjan without their favored, less-crowded movie house.
A local resident noticed large boards covering the former cinema area during a visit on Friday.
"It was our go-to cinema because it was less crowded, and all the films my son loves were always shown here,"
shared the expat living in Al Ghadeer.
Nakheel, the company managing Ibn Battuta Mall, confirmed that the Novo Cinemas outlet has shut down but provided no further details on whether another cinema chain would replace it. A Google search also confirms the "permanently closed" status, and the location has been removed from Novo Cinemas’ official website.
