Dubai’s Night-Swimming Beaches Attract 1.5 Million Visitors in 18 Months

Dubai’s night-swimming beaches in Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1 have welcomed an impressive 1.5 million visitors within 18 months of their launch.

Spanning 800 meters, these beaches exemplify Dubai Municipality’s efforts to elevate the appeal of public beaches with state-of-the-art facilities and services, catering to both residents and tourists.

Ibrahim Juma, Director of the Public Beaches and Water Canals Department, attributed the initiative’s success to its focus on delivering a unique tourism and entertainment experience.

“This project aligns with Dubai’s vision of establishing itself as a global leader in quality of life and a top international tourist destination,”

he said.

The night-swimming beaches are thoughtfully equipped to ensure inclusivity, featuring facilities for people of determination and senior citizens. These include floating chairs for swimming, specially designed rest areas, and rescue teams trained to meet their needs—all adhering to the 'Dubai Universal Design Code.' Advanced lighting systems and 24/7 lifeguard services ensure safety, with a team of 16 lifeguards, rescue supervisors, and modern rescue tools on standby.

In addition to offering a secure environment, Dubai Municipality has installed electronic screens to share public awareness messages and enhance visitors’ experience. Night swimming is permitted from sunset to sunrise, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a unique regional destination.

Launched in May 2023, the initiative is part of the Dubai government’s broader vision to position the emirate as the world’s best city for living, working, and tourism. With integrated services and unparalleled recreational offerings, the night-swimming beaches contribute to Dubai’s standing as a global entertainment hub and a leader in public infrastructure.
