The Dubai Department of Finance’s Support Service Centre (SSC) has announced significant savings of AED 160 million for 60 government entities through the Dubai Government Shared Procurement Programme, Tasharok.

This achievement marks a remarkable 16% reduction in procurement spending since the programme's launch in September 2020.

H.E. Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of the Department of Finance (DOF), emphasized the programme's efficiency in fostering collaboration among government entities.

"The Dubai Government Shared Procurement Programme plays a pivotal role in achieving substantial financial milestones while ensuring prudent management of public funds,"

he stated, crediting the initiative to the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.

Notably, the Tasharok programme has streamlined the procurement process, reducing the average duration from 14 days to just 6 days. Hamed Abdulghafoor Alawadhi, DOF’s Executive Director of the Shared Services Sector, attributed this success to joint framework agreements with suppliers, which guarantee stable pricing and significantly lower the time and effort required by each entity.

Mubarak Ahmad Al Shamsi, Director of the SSC, highlighted the hybrid strategic approach of Tasharok, providing essential data and reports while allowing seven main entities to lead the procurement process. The programme's digital platform features over 5,000 products and services across 24 categories, with more than 300 employees from 77 government entities trained to utilize the system effectively.

This innovative procurement strategy positions Dubai as a leader in government efficiency and fiscal responsibility, ultimately benefiting the public sector and taxpayers alike.
