Ducab is driving a new era of energy transmission with cutting-edge cable technologies designed to boost efficiency, sustainability, and smart monitoring.

Charles Mellagui, CEO of Ducab’s Cable Business Unit, outlined the Group’s forward-thinking vision.

Mellagui highlighted a major shift underway in global power transmission — the transition from traditional alternating current (AC) systems to high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems.

“The energy landscape is evolving, and HVDC is critical to supporting growing power demands with greater efficiency,”

he said.

At the forefront of this transition, Ducab has developed 525kV HVDC cables that mark a significant technological leap. These advanced cables are not only optimized for long-distance power transmission but also incorporate integrated optical fibres. This feature enables real-time monitoring and data analysis, allowing for swift detection and response to any system anomalies.

Sustainability also remains a core pillar of Ducab’s innovation strategy. Mellagui emphasized the Group’s efforts in developing cables from recyclable materials like PVC and copper, alongside implementing water recycling technologies to minimize environmental impact.

“Ducab’s commitment to innovation is matched by our focus on sustainable practices. We are proud to offer solutions that strengthen power networks while reducing resource consumption,”

Mellagui stated.

With these initiatives, Ducab is positioning itself as a leader in shaping the future of energy infrastructure across the region and beyond.
