Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has announced that its global prayer time app, DULOOK, has surpassed 770,000 downloads worldwide, marking a major milestone in the emirate’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
The app, which records more than 65,000 active daily users, reflects Dubai’s growing influence in leveraging technology to enhance the spiritual and digital well-being of Muslim communities globally. Around half a million downloads were recorded within the UAE—200,000 on Android and 300,000 on iPhone—while international downloads reached 270,000, accounting for 36% of total users.
User engagement is strongest in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Oman, with notable traction in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and India. IACAD attributes this widespread appeal to the app’s precise, location-based prayer timings, immersive Qibla direction, and smart notifications that enhance interaction and convenience.
Dr. Hamad Mohammed Saleh, Head of the Moonsighting and Prayer Times Section, said new features are under development to further improve user experience and expand the app’s benefits. He emphasized that user feedback remains central to ongoing updates and innovation.
He added that DULOOK aims to enrich the digital religious experience through a reliable platform that helps users determine accurate prayer times, track religious occasions, and stay connected to faith-based practices. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader vision to integrate technology into daily life and promote values of spirituality, accessibility, and community connection on a global scale.
