Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) continues to drive substantial economic impact for Dubai, aligning with the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
The 2023 Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) Annual Report highlights DWTC's significant contribution to the city's GDP, with AED 18.28Bn generated from 76 large-scale events. These events contributed AED 10.53Bn to Dubai's GDP, fostering 69,281 jobs and generating AED 3.36Bn in disposable income. With 1.54 million attendees, including a remarkable 53% increase in international attendance, DWTC reinforces Dubai's status as a global business hub, facilitating connections, collaboration, and innovation.
His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of DWTC Authority, emphasizes DWTC's role in advancing Dubai's economic agenda, guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Aligned with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, DWTC spearheads efforts in sector diversification, reinforcing Dubai's position as a global business hub. The accomplishments showcased in the DWTC Economic Impact Report highlight the MICE sector's vital contribution to Dubai's financial resilience and growth, underscoring strides towards sustainable socio-economic development. Increased international participation and significant economic impact across various sectors demonstrate Dubai's commitment to driving business tourism forward.
DWTC's 2023 events drove over AED 10.81Bn in adjacent sector revenue, benefiting Hotel Accommodation, Air Travel, Retail, Restaurants, and Business Entertainment. International participants surged by 53%, contributing significantly to Dubai's GDP. DWTC's large-scale events yielded AED 2.33Bn in sales, showcasing sector diversity and Dubai's global relevance.
