Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has announced impressive results for its Hospitality division in the first half of 2024, showcasing significant growth in both external and on-site catering services.
The division reported a remarkable 140% increase in the number of guests served at external events, catering to 104,732 guests in H1 2024 compared to 43,615 in the same period in 2023. This growth underscores DWTC's expanding influence and expertise in delivering high-quality off-site catering across the UAE.
Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar, Executive Vice President at DWTC, highlighted the division’s outstanding performance, attributing the success to participation in high-profile events such as the Dubai International Boat Show, Dubai World Cup, and Dubai Airshow. The division’s ability to deliver exceptional hospitality services beyond its own venues has solidified its position as a leading provider in the region.
The Hospitality division also saw a 41% increase in wedding catering, serving 35,150 guests in H1 2024, up from 24,790 in H1 2023. To support this growth, DWTC expanded its staff, increasing the number of chefs to 113 and nearly doubling its permanent staff to 195.
In addition to external events, DWTC's Jafza One Convention Centre (JOCC) also experienced a 28% increase in guests, catering to 7,150 attendees in H1 2024. The total number of events at JOCC and the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) rose by 17% to 89 events.
As a key player in Dubai's thriving events industry, DWTC's Hospitality division continues to excel, offering comprehensive event planning and management services alongside its award-winning catering. With the capacity to cater to up to 40,000 guests per day, the division is well-positioned for continued growth and success.
