Dubai International Airport (DXB) has been honoured with the Airports Council International (ACI) Safety Recognition Award 2025, cementing its position as a global leader in aviation safety.

Presented during the 2nd ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Assembly in New Delhi, the award acknowledges DXB’s forward-thinking safety strategy, which blends innovation, data, and collaboration to proactively manage risks and enhance operational resilience. CEO Paul Griffiths and Buti Qurwash, SVP of Safety & Security at Dubai Airports, accepted the award on behalf of the organisation.

DXB’s approach goes beyond regulatory compliance, introducing smart, scalable initiatives designed to embed a strong safety culture across all airport operations. Recent efforts include the Safety Superstar Award, which celebrates staff contributions to safety, and a confidential reporting system to encourage transparency and swift issue resolution.

The airport has also rolled out interactive safety videos, targeted surveys, and collaborative campaigns, ensuring engagement at every level. These initiatives not only raise awareness but drive accountability and continuous improvement.

“Safety isn’t just about compliance — it’s the backbone of how we operate,”

said Griffiths.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and partners who work tirelessly to keep DXB safe, efficient, and ahead of the curve. As the world’s busiest international airport, it’s our responsibility to set the standard.”

With this recognition, DXB continues to lead the global aviation industry in redefining how safety is managed, measured, and maintained.
