e& (formerly Etisalat), a global technology group, has partnered with IBM to launch an advanced AI governance solution aimed at ensuring ethical, transparent, and compliant use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its operations.
The collaboration was announced today at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos.
The solution leverages IBM's watsonx.governance platform and IBM Consulting’s expertise to establish a comprehensive framework that promotes accountability, mitigates biases, and safeguards data in e&’s AI ecosystem. This initiative underscores e&’s commitment to scaling AI responsibly while meeting compliance and regulatory standards.
The AI governance platform introduces automated risk management, compliance monitoring, and real-time performance analysis. It enables e& to monitor its AI models throughout their lifecycle, addressing risks like bias, non-compliance, and performance drift. A centralised inventory of AI models ensures traceability and oversight, with dynamic monitoring providing actionable insights to maintain ethical practices.
Dena Almansoori, Group Chief AI and Data Officer at e&, emphasised the importance of responsible AI practices, stating,
“By adopting IBM watsonx.governance, we’re setting a global benchmark for AI governance. This collaboration ensures transparency, explainability, and efficiency across our AI operations.”
IBM Consulting will design a customised AI governance framework for e&, integrating workflows, KPIs, and existing AI models to deliver real-time insights. IBM’s Shukri Eid noted,
“This partnership strengthens our shared vision for responsible AI innovation, addressing key governance challenges and reducing risks.”
This initiative marks a significant step forward in e&’s AI strategy, reinforcing its leadership in setting global standards for ethical and transparent AI governance.
