Eaton has begun construction on a 36,000-square-meter sustainable manufacturing, engineering, and training facility in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), marking a major step in the emirate’s push toward high-tech industrial growth.
The multi-million-dollar project, developed in partnership with DP World’s flagship free zone, aligns with Dubai’s D33 strategy to position the city as a global hub for manufacturing and innovation. Once complete, the facility will create more than 700 skilled jobs, including roles in research, engineering, and advanced manufacturing, supporting Eaton’s operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Eaton CEO Paulo Ruiz said the new site will help the company meet rising regional demand for safe and sustainable power solutions.
“We are proud to align with Dubai’s vision of accelerating sustainable industrial growth and positioning the nation as a leader in innovation,”
he added.
The state-of-the-art complex will integrate 20 Industry 4.0 technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance production of advanced electrical and electronic components. It will also feature a strategic engineering center dedicated to product innovation, sustainable manufacturing, and power management solutions for industries such as data centers, utilities, and commercial buildings.
The facility’s design incorporates renewable energy and energy-efficient systems to achieve LEED Gold certification, reflecting Eaton’s and Jafza’s shared commitment to sustainability.
Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, said Eaton’s investment underscores Jafza’s pivotal role in Dubai’s industrial strategy, which aims to add $5 billion to the sector’s GDP by 2030. With over 700 manufacturing companies from 73 countries already operating in Jafza, the project further strengthens Dubai’s status as a global manufacturing and innovation hub.
