Emirates Development Bank (EDB) today held the fifth edition of its EDB Connect forum series at the Etihad Museum in Dubai.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology’s (MoIAT) "Make it in the Emirates" initiative, focused on fostering collaboration between government entities and private sector companies to drive sustainable growth in Dubai.

Under the theme “Beyond the Horizon: Unlocking Dubai's Sustainable Future Through Unconventional Collaborations,” the forum featured panel discussions and a TED Talk-style session. These sessions explored how Dubai’s advanced infrastructure can strengthen its global position as a leading manufacturing and export hub.

EDB’s strategy, launched in April 2021, has contributed AED 12.9 billion in financing, with AED 4.4 billion allocated to Dubai’s key sectors, bolstering its economy. The bank’s efforts align with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in impact investing and Industry 4.0.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB, emphasized the importance of such platforms, stating,

“We unite here today to shape and propel the UAE's economic diversification and industrial growth.”

He highlighted EDB’s role in fostering partnerships that support local businesses and SMEs.

The event concluded with an award ceremony, recognizing stakeholders who have significantly contributed to Dubai’s economic development, showcasing the city’s commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.
