The Emirates Development Bank (EDB), a key driver of the UAE’s economic and industrial growth, has launched its AI Wave programme.

This initiative is designed to enhance AI literacy and promote the adoption of artificial intelligence across the organisation, aligning with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031.

The AI Wave programme aims to support the UAE's goal of becoming a global leader in AI innovation by improving government efficiency through the integration of AI technologies in banking services. It focuses on educating and equipping EDB employees from all departments with knowledge about AI tools and best practices, enabling them to apply these technologies in their roles.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB, highlighted the bank’s commitment to driving AI-powered innovation.

"Our AI Wave programme reinforces our role in the UAE’s economic transformation, ensuring sustainable growth through AI integration,"

he stated.

The initiative includes a series of workshops, seminars, and training sessions, featuring industry experts such as Irina Petrakova-Otto from Microsoft and Martin Hayward from Pinsent Masons. These sessions provide valuable insights into AI applications, data management, and ethical considerations, preparing EDB’s workforce to lead the nation’s digital transformation.

Abeer Al Sumaiti, EDB’s Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the programme’s role in embedding AI into the bank’s culture, fostering a forward-thinking workforce prepared to drive innovation.

This initiative reflects EDB's commitment to setting benchmarks in AI-driven decision-making and efficiency, contributing to the UAE's strategic vision for a technologically advanced economy.
