During GITEX Global 2024, the Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) and Dubai Customs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering Emiratisation in the private sector, particularly within the logistics industry.
The agreement, finalized during an official ceremony, was signed by Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of the EHRDC, and Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs. This partnership aims to enhance employment opportunities for Emiratis by developing specialized qualification programs and facilitating direct engagement between private sector companies and local talent.
Key initiatives outlined in the MoU include the provision of tailored vocational training programs under Dubai Customs' supervision, designed to prepare Emiratis for specialized roles in logistics. The EHRDC will also assist in matching qualified Emiratis with job openings, providing ongoing support to foster high performance and career growth within the private sector.
Additionally, the collaboration will focus on organizing job fairs and career exhibitions to enhance communication between companies and Emirati job seekers, as well as conducting surveys to identify employment challenges and propose innovative solutions.
Sultan Al Mansoori, Chairman of the EHRDC, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating,
“This collaboration empowers our mission to increase Emirati representation in the private sector. Together, we will create meaningful opportunities that align with the UAE's vision of a knowledge-based economy.”
Dr. Busenad echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Dubai Customs' commitment to enhancing the local workforce's skill set to meet the evolving demands of the logistics industry.
