The Emirates Institute of Finance Innovation Hub (EIFI) and Bloomberg have launched a Bloomberg Finance Lab, giving UAE banking and finance professionals hands-on access to the market data and analytics tools used across global finance.
EIFI is affiliated with the Central Bank of the UAE and plays a key role in building skills across the country’s financial services sector. The new lab supports its mission to develop the next generation of financial professionals by bringing Bloomberg technology directly into its training programmes.
The lab is equipped with 12 Bloomberg Terminals, which places EIFI alongside more than 1,200 academic institutions in 65 countries that use the technology in their curriculum. The Terminal offers real-time and historical data, advanced analytics, market-moving news and electronic trading tools. Users can analyse financial markets with the same resources relied on by global financial institutions, corporations and policymakers.
Participants will strengthen their market knowledge, research capabilities and practical workflow skills, then apply them in their day-to-day roles. They will also have access to self-paced, interactive e-learning certification courses, including Bloomberg Financial Fundamentals and Bloomberg Market Concepts. These cover areas such as Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Equities and Economic Indicators.
Marwan Salem Abunwas Al Muhairi, Chief Executive Officer of EIFI, said the lab reflects the institute’s collaboration with Bloomberg to offer practical, market-relevant learning. He said hands-on use of the tools will help participants deepen their understanding of global markets and support the sector’s continued growth and competitiveness.
Michelle Bennett, Head of EMEA Terminal Business at Bloomberg, described the UAE as one of the most dynamic and resilient financial centres the company works in. She said developing skilled talent will be critical to its continued growth, and that Bloomberg is pleased to support the professionals who will shape the sector’s future.
