Elite Male Cyclists Set to Compete in Dubai Ruler’s Court Race from January 19
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the ‘Dubai Ruler’s Court Race’ for elite male cyclists began on 19 January as part of the 9th edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship.
The prestigious competition, which is the world’s largest community cycling event in terms of diversity and prize value, is organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai.
The 193-kilometre race commenced at noon from the historic Ruler’s Court in Al Fahidi District, weaving through iconic landmarks such as Dubai Creek, Dubai Frame, Za’abeel Palace, and the Museum of the Future, before concluding at the Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve. The race is designed to showcase Dubai’s rich cultural and historical heritage, with safety and organizational excellence prioritized by the Supreme Organising Committee, chaired by His Excellency Omair bin Jumaa Al Falasi.
This year’s race holds special significance, as it begins from the Ruler’s Court, a site that has played a pivotal role in shaping Dubai's future. Previous editions have highlighted locations integral to Dubai’s history, including Al Shindagha and Hatta.
A briefing session was held on 17 January to outline race details and procedures for the participating elite cyclists from the UAE and GCC countries. The Al Salam Cycling Championship, which began in December, will also feature the Desert Race on 9 February and the Women’s Race on 16 February.
The event is supported by strategic partners including Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, and the UAE Cycling Federation, ensuring a world-class experience for participants and spectators alike.
