Emirates Airlines is restructuring its global commercial team to prepare for a new phase of strategic growth and expansion, effective November 1.
This initiative aims to enhance the airline's capacity to manage vital customer and partner relationships while meeting revenue targets across its extensive network of 138 destinations in 80 countries.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales and Country Management, will lead the revamped team. Notably, three of the top six roles will be filled by long-serving UAE Nationals, reflecting the airline’s commitment to local talent.
Key appointments include Thierry Aucoc, transitioning from Senior Vice President (SVP) of Commercial Operations for Europe and the Russian Federation to SVP Commercial Operations (West), overseeing Europe and the Americas. Adil Al Ghaith will shift from SVP Commercial Operations Gulf, Middle East, and Central Asia to SVP Commercial Operations (Centre), managing the Gulf, Middle East, and Africa. Essa Sulaiman Ahmad will move from Divisional VP of the USA and Canada to SVP Commercial Operations (West Asia & Indian Ocean).
Matthew Jones will take on the role of Vice President for the USA, reporting to Aucoc, while Orhan Abbas and Barry Brown will continue to lead their respective regions in the Far East and Australasia.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of the Commercial Operations teams as ambassadors for the airline. He expressed confidence that these appointments would enhance customer satisfaction and invigorate business operations.
Earlier this month, Emirates also announced several new commercial team appointments across key Middle Eastern and African markets, continuing its trend of promoting local talent within the organization.
