Emirates and Philippine Airlines are in talks to expand their partnership, aiming to improve travel convenience and connectivity between the Philippines, Dubai, and beyond.

During the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, both carriers discussed the potential for a reciprocal code-sharing agreement that would allow passengers to book a single ticket, enjoy competitive fares, and follow a unified baggage policy across both airlines’ networks. If finalized, the partnership would give travelers easier access to more destinations beyond each airline’s current routes.

The two airlines also plan to explore expanded cooperation in cargo services, ground handling, catering, maintenance, and training. Joint familiarization trips for media and travel industry partners are also on the table to promote their combined offerings.

This move builds on the enhanced interline agreement signed in March 2023, which has enabled smoother travel across ten domestic and nine international destinations via Cebu, Clark, and Dubai. Passengers have benefited from streamlined services and baggage transfers between the two airlines.

Emirates, which has served Manila since 1990, currently operates 28 weekly flights to the Philippines, offering around 22,700 seats. It also recently opened its first Emirates World Store in Southeast Asia in Manila, underlining its long-term commitment to Filipino travelers.

The proposed expansion reflects both airlines’ shared goal of delivering more flexible and seamless travel experiences for their growing customer base.
