Emirates has signed a multi-year deal to become the Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball, marking the airline’s debut in European basketball and strengthening its long-standing partnership with the Spanish club.
The agreement takes effect immediately, with Emirates’ “Fly Better” branding set to appear on Real Madrid’s men’s and women’s basketball jerseys, training kits, and staff apparel. The partnership also grants the airline visibility across the Movistar Arena Madrid, hospitality opportunities, social media rights, and presence in top competitions including the Spanish Liga ACB, EuroLeague, and Copa del Rey.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, described the move as a natural extension of the brand’s connection with Real Madrid and its global fanbase.
“We’re proud of this unique opportunity to become the Official Main Sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball, complementing our long-standing partnership with Real Madrid CF, whilst expanding our presence in the game,”
he said.
The collaboration comes as Emirates expands its basketball portfolio, which already includes a landmark global partnership with the NBA, sponsorship of grassroots and professional events in the UAE, and support for clubs such as Beirut Basketball Club.
Real Madrid Basketball, known for its championship pedigree, further enhances Emirates’ presence in Spain, where the airline already sponsors Real Madrid CF and major tennis tournaments. Emirates operates 28 weekly flights to Madrid and Barcelona, reinforcing its role as a key bridge between Spain and the world.
