Emirates has officially inaugurated its first dedicated lounge in the region at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This AED 20 million (USD 5.4 million) investment, spanning 900 square meters, is located in the airport’s Terminal 1 and caters to First and Business class passengers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members. The lounge can accommodate over 190 guests, providing various seating options and luxurious amenities.
The opening of this lounge aligns with Emirates’ commitment to expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia and supporting the aviation goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This year also marks 35 years of Emirates' service to Jeddah, making the launch a significant milestone. The event was attended by notable figures, including His Excellency Nasser Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Consul General of UAE in Jeddah, and Eng. Mazen Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO).
Mohammed Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services at Emirates, highlighted Jeddah's importance as their first gateway into the Kingdom 35 years ago. He expressed gratitude to airport authorities for their support and emphasized the lounge’s role in enhancing the travel experience for Emirates' customers.
Eng. Mazen Johar added that the new lounge is a testament to the strategic relationship between Emirates and the airport, enhancing travel options and contributing to the comprehensive development efforts at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The lounge boasts a sophisticated design with regional influences and offers a variety of seating configurations, dining options, luxurious shower facilities, a prayer room, and other amenities. The buffet features an array of Middle Eastern, local, and international delicacies.
Located on the third floor of Terminal 1, the lounge is a short walk from the terminal’s entrance and boarding gates. Emirates operates seven lounges at DXB and 32 others across its network, facilitating tourism and trade in Saudi Arabia since 1989. The airline currently serves four gateways in the Kingdom with more than 70 weekly flights, including triple daily A380 services to Jeddah.
