Emirates Environmental Group Hosts 24th Pan-Arab Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is set to convene the 24th cycle of its Pan-Arab Inter College Environmental Public Speaking Competition from November 25 to 28, 2024, at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai.

This event marks the second consecutive year the institution hosts the competition, which is supported by sponsors UPS and Abela & CO.

This four-day competition will adopt a hybrid format, inviting undergraduate students from across the Arab region to address significant sustainability challenges. The prestigious platform allows participants to share insights and propose practical solutions to pressing environmental issues.

In a notable expansion last year aligned with COP28, the competition welcomed international participants, including this year's inaugural registration from China, reflecting its growing global appeal.

Habiba Al Mar'ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG, emphasized the competition's role in empowering students, providing them with a dynamic space to express their commitment to environmental conservation. She highlighted the event's ability to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills among participants as they tackle real-world challenges.

For 2024, EEG has identified four key themes to guide discussions: "Greennovation: Envisioning Cities of Tomorrow," "Pending Eco-Excursions: Conservation & Sustainable Tourism," "Harmonised Communities: Leading Climate Conscious Society?" and "Benevolence of Oceans: Comprehending Planetary Security."

All college and university students and administrators are encouraged to visit the EEG website for more information on participation and to engage in this essential platform for environmental advocacy.
