Emirates has strengthened its long haul expansion plans with a new order for eight Airbus A350 900 aircraft valued at US$3.4 billion, unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The top up deal increases the airline’s future A350 900 fleet to 73 units as deliveries continue through the next decade.
The airline has already received 13 A350s since the model entered its service last November. The newly ordered aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2031, adding long term capacity to support Emirates’ global network and enhance its onboard product offering.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the A350 has given the carrier added flexibility and allowed more passengers to experience its latest cabin products, including Premium Economy. He noted that the order builds on Emirates’ wide body strategy alongside the additional Boeing 777 9s confirmed earlier this week, bringing the airline’s total orderbook to 375 aircraft.
Airbus welcomed the renewed commitment, with Benoît de Saint Exupéry, EVP Sales for Commercial Aircraft, highlighting the A350’s role in setting standards for long haul travel. Rolls Royce also underscored Emirates’ confidence in the Trent XWB 84 engine that powers the A350 900, citing its durability and fuel efficiency.
The announcement reinforces Emirates’ long term investment in fleet renewal and positions the airline for continued growth as global travel demand evolves.
