Emirates has announced the expansion of its flight schedule to Madagascar, increasing services from four to six weekly flights starting April 2, 2025.

The decision, revealed at a press conference in Antananarivo hosted by the airline alongside Madagascar's Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Tourism, highlights Emirates' commitment to supporting the island nation’s tourism growth and boosting global connectivity.

Since its launch to Madagascar in September 2024, Emirates has experienced strong demand for both inbound and outbound services, with current flights operating near full capacity. The increased frequency will accommodate this growing demand, enhance traveler convenience, and provide additional cargo capacity to bolster trade links.

Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean, expressed confidence in the route’s potential:

“Our expanded schedule will offer greater connectivity and support Madagascar’s tourism ambitions, driving economic and social benefits for local communities.”

The upgraded schedule will link Dubai and Antananarivo via Mahe, operating on all days except Mondays. Tickets are available on Emirates’ platforms, with holiday packages offered through Emirates Holidays and global tour operators.

Madagascar’s Minister of Transport, Dr. Manambahoaka Valéry F. Ramonjavelo, hailed the additional flights as a sign of Emirates’ trust in the country’s tourism potential. Minister of Tourism Viviane Dewa emphasized the role of Emirates in connecting Madagascar to over 140 destinations worldwide, boosting efforts to reach the target of one million tourists by 2028.

Operating on a Boeing 777, Emirates’ enhanced services will also provide up to 20 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, further strengthening economic ties between Madagascar and the UAE.

This expansion underscores Emirates’ role in promoting Madagascar’s unique attractions, including its UNESCO heritage sites and rich biodiversity, to a global audience.
