Emirates Flight Training Academy Partners with Egnatia Aviation for EASA Accreditation

In a landmark development for aviation training, Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) has announced a strategic partnership with Greece-based Egnatia Aviation, one of Europe’s leading flight training organizations.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards EFTA securing European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) accreditation by early 2025, enhancing its global appeal.

EASA certification, a globally recognized aviation standard, is essential for pilots flying European-registered aircraft or working with European airlines. As part of the partnership, EFTA’s international cadets will complete a 10-hour Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME/IR) program at Egnatia Aviation in Greece. Upon graduation, cadets will hold both a UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and an EASA licence, broadening their career prospects.

Captain Abdulla Al Hammadi, Divisional Vice President of EFTA, hailed the collaboration as a “huge milestone,” noting its role in addressing the global pilot shortage.

“EFTA’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced learning technologies, and location in Dubai, a major aviation hub, make it the ideal destination for aspiring pilots,”

he stated.

Egnatia Aviation’s Chief Commercial Officer, George Triantafyllidis, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing the opportunity for cadets to gain world-class training and certification aligned with EU aviation standards.

Founded in 2017, EFTA boasts cutting-edge facilities in Dubai South, including a fleet of 32 training aircraft, six flight simulators, and a dedicated 1,800m runway. Meanwhile, Egnatia Aviation, with its General Aviation airport and modern training infrastructure, has trained pilots from around the globe over its 18-year history.

This partnership represents a significant leap for EFTA as it continues its journey toward becoming a global leader in aviation training.
