Emirates Health Services Takes Center Stage at Arab Health 2025 with Groundbreaking Healthcare Innovations
Emirates Health Services (EHS) is making waves at the Arab Health 2025 medical expo, unveiling two groundbreaking projects under the theme "The Future of Healthcare."
These pioneering initiatives aim to revolutionize chronic disease management and improve patient quality of life.
Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at EHS, emphasized the organization's commitment to transformative healthcare solutions.
"The projects presented at Arab Health 2025 represent a significant leap in treating chronic conditions like heart disease and type 1 diabetes. They align with the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031, which aims to enhance medical services and optimize community health,"
he stated.
Among the highlights is the Total Artificial Heart, developed in collaboration with the Texas Heart Institute. This innovative device, featuring a titanium pump with magnetic technology, supports blood circulation and ventricular function in patients with advanced heart failure. With FDA approval and successful trials in the U.S., EHS plans to introduce this technology at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.
Another standout is the Islet Cell Allo-Transplantation project, a collaboration with the University of Chicago. This advancement simplifies the process of pancreatic cell transplantation for type 1 diabetes, directly implanting cells into the liver through a fine catheter. With promising clinical trial results and FDA approval, this technique could eliminate the need for insulin and prevent severe hypoglycemic episodes.
These groundbreaking projects underscore EHS’s ambitious vision for the future of healthcare, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to improve the UAE's medical landscape in alignment with the "We the UAE 2031" vision and UAE Centennial 2071 Plan.
