The UAE’s unified national platform “Emirates Health” opened its participation at World Health Expo 2026 in Dubai by unveiling a suite of projects and initiatives that underline the country’s growing leadership in advanced healthcare and medical innovation.
On the first day of the exhibition, the platform highlighted how national expertise is being combined with cutting-edge technologies to strengthen the sustainability of the healthcare system, in alignment with the UAE Centennial 2071 vision.
Among the flagship projects presented by the Ministry of Health and Prevention was organ perfusion technology, an advanced solution supporting the National Programme for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, Hayat. The technology allows organs to remain functional outside the body by circulating blood or nutrient-rich solutions under controlled oxygen and temperature conditions until transplantation.
The system simulates the human circulatory process, enabling clinicians to assess organ performance, fluid flow, oxygenation, and biological response prior to surgery. This approach improves transplant success rates, reduces complications, and allows for the re-evaluation of organs previously considered unsuitable, expanding the pool of viable transplants.
Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector at MoHAP, said the technology extends safe organ transport times between cities and countries while improving preservation quality. He noted it also strengthens regional and international cooperation, supports strategic partnerships, and promotes organ donation as a humanitarian value.
The ministry also showcased the National Genome System, an integrated framework for building and analysing a national genetic database to advance prevention, diagnosis, and treatment through precision medicine.
In parallel, workshops addressed emotional intelligence in workplace stress management and the future direction of integrative medicine. The platform also saw the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding with public and private sector partners.
