The Emirates Literature Foundation has announced an expansive lineup for the 2026 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, setting the stage for one of the event’s most diverse and ambitious editions yet.

The programme was revealed at an exclusive gathering at the Theatre of Digital Art in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, highlighting a celebration of storytelling rooted in Emirati heritage.

The 18th edition of the festival will run from 21 to 27 January 2026 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. A special VIP panel will honour his book Life Taught Me, adding prestige to a programme already filled with global literary talent.

This year’s roster features acclaimed authors including RF Kuang, Ruth Ware, Samantha Shannon, Ezzat Elkamhawi, Omar Taher, Rachel Clarke, Caleb Azumah Nelson, and Curtis Jobling. Celebrated Emirati voices such as Ali Al Mazmi, Shamma Al Bastaki, and Salha Obaid will also take centre stage, alongside award-winning regional and international writers.

Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation, said the festival aims to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global literary hub while fostering curiosity and connection among readers. Emirates Airline and Dubai Culture continue as key partners, supporting major festival strands including Bil Emirati and Translation.

This year’s programme brings more than 200 sessions across categories that range from journalism and fiction to workshops and family events. Visitors can explore themed tracks such as State of Now, How To, Fantastic Fiction, Writers’ Corner, and LitFest Families, as well as evening experiences through LitFest After Hours.

Tickets start at AED50, with flexible passes and early-bird discounts available. The festival has also introduced a dedicated app to help attendees personalise their visit, reflecting its continued commitment to innovation and accessibility.
