Emirates LitFest 2025: Speaker Lineup Unveiled with 150+ Inspiring Events
The Emirates Literature Foundation has announced the program lineup for the 17th edition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, taking place from 29 January to 3 February 2025 at the revamped InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and supported by Emirates Airline and Dubai Culture, this year’s festival promises over 150 engaging sessions, from Desert Stanzas to LitFest Families.
This year’s festival boasts an impressive lineup of literary icons, including celebrated names such as Abraham Verghese, Jeff Kinney, and Lemony Snicket creator Daniel Handler.
Ahlam Bolooki, CEO of Emirates Literature Foundation, highlighted the LitFest’s role in fostering vital dialogues on culture and identity, emphasizing its impact on bridging cultural divides.
Emirates, a title sponsor, underscored the festival’s importance in the city’s cultural landscape, with Boutros Boutros, Executive Vice President of Emirates, describing it as “a centrepiece” for bringing diverse perspectives to the city. Meanwhile, Dubai Culture’s Emirati Strand will highlight local voices like poet Adel Khozam and filmmaker Nahla Al Fahad, promoting cultural exchange.
Key festival attractions include the family-friendly LitFest Families segment, featuring an interactive show by Jeff Kinney, and the Theatre of Digital Art’s Qanoon and Poetry Night. The event also marks the celebration of new Emirati works and literary contests, with exclusive perks for members and unique ticket options like the ‘Bil Arabi’ pass, offering discounts on Arabic sessions.
