Emirates, the world's largest international airline, has made its inaugural landing in Antananarivo, Madagascar, marking a significant milestone in aviation history.
The arrival of flight EK707 at Ivato International Airport was met with a celebratory water cannon salute, followed by an exclusive event attended by VIPs, government officials, and media representatives.
The event was graced by His Excellency Andry Rajoelina, President of Madagascar, who welcomed the Emirates delegation, led by Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer. The delegation also included top executives from Dubai Chambers, Dubai Airports, and other prominent UAE organizations.
This new route strengthens the ties between the UAE and Madagascar, offering enhanced connectivity and premium travel options. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which features First, Business, and Economy classes, will operate the four-weekly service. The flight schedule is designed to optimize connections with key destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
President Rajoelina highlighted the importance of this new service, stating,
"This is a historic moment for Madagascar. It will act as a catalyst for tourism and economic development in our country."
Adnan Kazim echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Emirates' commitment to supporting Madagascar's growing tourism industry, which aims to attract one million tourists by 2028.
Passengers on the inaugural flight were treated to a unique inflight experience, including regionally inspired meals and a specially crafted Vanilla Mojito, highlighting Madagascar's rich cultural heritage.
With this new service, Emirates continues to deliver on its promise of providing unparalleled travel experiences, further solidifying its position as a leader in global aviation.
